• AQUILEGIA YELLOW QUEEN SEEDS: Charming and unusual aquilegia with long spurred flowers. This longer lived, slightly later flowering species is a great choice for sunny or partially shaded borders. An excellent performer in garden trials.
• SOW: February to June, FLOWERS: June to August, HEIGHT: 80cm, SPREAD: 60cm, SEEDS: 150 Approx.
• FOR INDOOR SOWING: WHEN – February to June. WHERE – In trays of seed compost. HOW - Sow thinly, cover with 0.5cm of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Place in a cold frame or cool greenhouse. Seedlings appear 21-42 days. CARE - When large enough transplant singly to 7.5cm pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions. Transplant 45cm apart in flowering position from summer onwards. FLOWERS – June to August, the following year.
• FOR OUTDOOR SOWING: WHEN - April to June. WHERE – In a prepared seed bed. HOW - Sow thinly, in rows 30cm apart. Cover lightly with fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. CARE - When large enough thin to 5cm apart. Transplant 45cm apart in flowering position from September to October. FLOWERS – June to August, the following year.
• TIP: Remove dead flower stems to encourage plants to clump up.
