• IRIS BULBS Iris bulbs are elegant, hardy perennials known for their swordlike foliage and striking blooms in a range of colours including purples, yellows, blues and whites. Flowering from late Spring into early Summer, iris blooms add height, structure, and colour to garden beds. Iris plants can reach heights of up to 90 cm and return year after year with minimal effort.
• HOW TO PLANT Plant iris bulbs or rhizomes from late Summer into Autumn in fertile, welldrained soil. Choose a sunny position, and plant the bulbs just below the surface, around 810cm deep and 1015cm apart. After planting, water well to help them establish. Add mulch or compost to improve soil structure and drainage.
• PLANTING POSITION Ideal for borders, rockeries, and containers, iris bulbs create a beautiful vertical accent. Their upright growth habit and dramatic flowers complement lowergrowing bedding plants and grasses. Irises thrive in full sun and suit a wide range of garden styles.
• EASY TO STORE If you are not ready to plant the bulbs now, then store them in a cool, dry, frost free, well ventilated location. A garage, shed, loft or cupboard are ideal. Open the paper bag to allow air to circulate round but leave the bulbs in their bags until ready to plant.
