• DOUBLE FREESIA MIXED BULBS - With this fantastic traditional mixed Double Freesia bulb collection, you will receive 10, 30 or 50 easy to grow Summer flowering herbaceous cormous perennials that grow up to 30 cm in a mix of blue, red and white, flowering from June to August. Loved by pollinating insects, in particular bees and butterflies. Double freesia have a fuller appearance, compared to that of single freesia, thanks to the extra row of petals on each flower. Please note that quantities and varieties may vary depending on availability.
• HOW TO PLANT FREESIA - Plant these freesia bulbs in the Spring in fertile, well draining soil in a warm sunny sheltered spot. These corms should be planted between 3 and 5 cm deep and 5cm apart, with the slightly pointed end upwards and roots downwards. After planting, water well and water about once a week during the growing season. After flowering, cut the spent flower stalks down to ground level and allow the foliage to die back naturally.
• PLANTING POSITION - These bulbs are great for growing in flower beds, garden borders or in patio pots. They can also be used as cut flowers allowing you to enjoy them in your home and garden. Freesia look great, when planted along with Ranunculus, Dianthus, Primroses and Primulas. Freesia will continue to grow each year with little maintenance. In colder areas, dig up the corms before the first frost and store them in a cool, dry place for at least four months. You can also plant them in containers that you can bring indoors for Winter.
• EASY TO STORE - If you are not ready to plant bulbs now, then store them in a cool, dry, frost free, well ventilated location. A garage, shed, loft or cupboard are ideal. Open the paper bag to allow air to circulate round but leave the bulbs in their bags until ready to plant. Just make sure mice or other rodents can’t get access to them. Keep an eye on your bulbs while in storage, if they are showing signs of going soft, it's best to get them planted before they deteriorate any further.
