- Native shrub found on dry sandy sites throughout the UK which is great for those very dry spots in the garden where little else survives. Being evergreen, Broom is well suited to use as hedging especially on windy sites where it also makes a good windbreak. From April to June, it is smothered in unusual, pea-like, bright yellow flowers on narrow whip like branches. A valuable plant for bees and butterflies. RHS Plants for Pollinators. Caution All plant parts & seeds toxic if consumed.
