This charger is programmed with 3 auto charging stages Ip Im Um. Stage Ip is a pre-charge function for deeply discharged battery packs - This helps prolong battery cycle life! When the battery is recovered by the small current pre-charge, stage Im will give bulk current charging until 80% capacity. Then, the Um stage follows, the output voltage is limited on a 3.6v C.V. point until the charge current has fallen to 0.1 C.C. value.
