Product description

  • Hold the seedlings by its leaves to prevent any root or stem damage. Make on deep hole in the compost in each 5cm pot. Sink one seedling into each hole so that its lowest leaves are just above compost level. Firm the compost around each seedling and water well.
  • Start seeds indoor or, in climate with short growing seasons. To keep soil temperature warm, start seeds indoors. Keep the container covered with a plastic bag on the top of the fridge where the room temperature is higher, therefore the soil temperature is good for germination.
  • INDOOR PLANTING Sow seeds 5mm deep in pots or trays of moist compost, store in a warm place at an approx. temperature of 18-21 C. Do not exclude light as this helps the seeds germinate. Ensure that the compost is moist at all times. Once all chance of frost has passed the plants can be transplanted into growing beds or patio tubs outside, harden off first. It would also be useful to cover with cloches for extra protection.
  • Chillies do best in very mild conditions, therefore, it would be better to keep them in a greenhouse or indoors. Pick fruits to encourage more to grow. Feed regularly with a tomato liquid fertiliser.
  • COMMON NAME Capsicum Annuum. Fresh jalapenos are great in salsas, thinly sliced for nachos or pizza toppings, or pickled to preserve them. Sliced jalapenos are often used a flavourful addition to a number of common dishes including tacos, burritos, sandwiches, hot dogs, salsa and pizza
  • Keep soil moderately moist, though not overly, dripping wet. Water soil when the soil surface just begins to dry. Allow proper air circulation for containers. And enjoy the fresh and tasty Chilli Jalapenos
