  • Synthetic engine oil of biological origin "Fuel economy" specially designed for Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) equipped with recent gasoline engines, turbocharged or atmospheric, direct or indirect injection, designed to use SAE 0W-16 low friction and low viscosity HTHS (High Temperature High Shear) oil ( 2.3 mPa.s). MOTUL NGEN HYBRID 0W-16 is specially formulated for the technical challenges imposed by petrol hybrid cars, such as fuel dilution, water emulsion, high stop start and low oil temperature conditions.
  • This state-of-the-art formulation is part of a whole new sustainable concept from Motul, as it contains 25% Organic base (synthetic bases of 100% renewable vegetable origin) and is packaged in a 50% recycled and 100% recyclable Motul plastic can. This Organic base using renewable non-fossil materials is limiting the environmental impact and allows Motul to reduce its carbon footprint by 25% during the manufacturing process. MOTUL NGEN is the common name to qualify the sustainable ranges at Motul using different technologies in formulations and packaging to reduce its carbon footprint.
  • This specific formulation can also be used for petrol engines requiring a SAE 0W-16 viscosity grade lubricant or a "Fuel Economy" 16 viscosity grade lubricant, with API SP-RC, API SP and or ILSAC GF-6B standards. MOTUL NGEN HYBRID 0W-16 is also suitable for battery electric vehicles (BEV) equipped with a gasoline engine used as a range extender. Compatible with catalytic converters and particulate filters. This type of oil may be unsuitable for use in some engines. Refer to the owner's manual if in doubt.
  • Specially formulated to meet the specific challenges of hybrid electric vehicles, such as HEVs, PHEVs and BEVs with Range Extender, where there are numerous and multiple unexpected stops and starts of the petrol engine during the various phases of hybrid vehicle operation. This particular mode of operation of the internal combustion engine in a hybrid vehicle creates very specific constraints for the lubricant, such as fuel dilution, water emulsion, high number of stops and starts and working in lower oil temperature conditions leading to increased oxidation.
  • The BIO base using renewable non-fossil materials limits the environmental impact and reduces its carbon footprint by 25% during the manufacturing process. It is approved by the USDA (US Department of Agriculture) as part of its BioPreferred Programme for certified sustainable oils that support the environment. The organic base stock improves all conventional API criteria requirements while providing better cold engine starting and fuel economy, and improves oil consumption control. It demonstrates all these qualities in all key criteria and requirements when compared to API SP and ILSAC GF-6B standards.
