- A2 STAINLES STEEL A2 is also known as AISI 304 Stainless steel-The most commonly used stainless steel. Grade A2 steels are the more commonly used stainless steels. They are used for kitchen equipment and for apparatus for the chemical industry. Steels of this grade are not suitable for use in non-oxidising acids and media containing chloride, e.g. in swimming pools and in sea water.
