  • Before first use, soak the tajine in water for 3-5 hours and then let it dry completely. (For the tagine lid this process is not necessary). If you rarely use the tagine it s wise to soak it again for an hour and let it dry before using it again.
  • You can use the tagine on virtually any heat source. On a wood fire, on the stove (with flame distributor), or on an electric ceramic hob and in the oven. When used on a ceramic plate, avoid sliding to prevent scratching the surface.
  • It is also important to avoid abrupt temperature variations and to only use the tagine on a heat source which has a diameter as large as or larger than the base of the tagine this to avoid temperature differences within the tagine base, which could cause the base to break upon heating.
  • The tagine (as well as the oven dishes) can safely be heated up to 300 degrees Celsius.
