In addition, the HX890E is hoverable and designed to survive immersion with an IPX8 waterproof rating, allowing the handheld to be left remote and operational for up to 30 minutes.
- Extended Range This HX890E VHF marine transmitter extends its range to full 6W transmit power. 2W and 1W can be set to maximize battery.
- Emergency Alarm The Emergency Alarm sends a vessel's longitude and latitude when activated. This FM handheld can send and receive DSC emergency messages. The HX890E also features a water-triggered flash that turns white when it comes into contact with water. This feature helps locate the radio in low light conditions and works even when the radio is turned off Another important emergency feature is the Man Overboard (MOB) Location Record.
