Product description

  • Characteristics The Buddleia Tricolour, commonly known as the 'Butterfly Bush' is grown using three vibrant and hardy deciduous shrubs which intertwine forming the tri-colour effect during flourishing season. Due to their sweet honey fragrance, look out for bees, butterflies and other pollinating wildlife visiting your garden.
  • Season Of Interest The 'Butterfly Bush' will begin to flourish in early spring all the way through to late summer. The plants will produce an explosion of colour, in combinations of blue, white & pink. Each coloured bloom will last for several weeks boosting vibrance in your garden through July - September.
  • Growth & Spread If left un-pruned, the potential height can be 1 - 1.5m and spread of 0.75 - 1m
  • Water & Maintenance Buddelia bushes are known to be a generally low maintenance shrub. The Tricolour requires frequent watering for the first couple of weeks after planting and then just average watering after it's settled in. Be sure to prune back and shape the plants every March by around two inches.
  • Planting Advice They are drought tolerant and hardy shrubs, so are suitable for planting in borders and planters. Grow in well-drained, chalky soil and situate in a full sun position. It is recommended to soak the roots for around 2 hours before planting.
