  • Common Name Gage Genus Prunus Species domestica Cultivar 'Oullins Gage' Skill Level Beginner Exposure Full sun Hardiness Hardy Soil type Well-drained light, Dry
  • Oullin's golden gage serves two purposes. Pies and jams can be made using it in the kitchen. It tastes great eaten right off the tree and is sweet and juicy. A huge fruit by gauge standards, it requires a sunny aspect in order to yield reliable and high-quality crops. It has yellow transparent semi-clinging skin and a pretty golden hue with subtle red specks. Between 1850 and 1899, France introduced it. The town of Oullins, which is close to Lyon, is the source of the term Oullins Golden Gauge. Reine Claude d'Oullins is another name for it.
  • It is self-fertile, which means that pollination doesn't need the assistance of another gage at the same location. August is the ideal time to pick it and use it within a week. Rootstock St Julien A 4-5M
