The dense variety displays extremely thick compact leaf growth along the stem, excellent oxygenator and is currently used within education for photosynthesis experiments. You are buying 10 bunches of Elodea Densa in synthetic led weights, which will not have roots. These plants are stem plants which do not have roots.
